Nursery & Pre-school
Bright Beginning is an exciting new Nursery, Pre-School and Children’s Centre in Guernsey offering year round childcare for children aged 3 months to 4 years. Bright Beginnings opened in January 2017 and the nursery and pre-school are open from 8am to 5.30pm.
Located on the edge of Delancey Park we are able to offer an abundance of fresh air and outdoor space for your child as well as being in a convenient location for effortless drop-offs.
The Children’s Centre on-site provides the availability of specialist support services, activities and classes to all parents and care-givers.
Our vision is to give all children, from all backgrounds the brightest start possible to develop the appropriate readiness to learn in a happy, safe and family orientated environment.
Our ethos is taken from the 1001 Critical Days Agenda, namely that all children receive sensitive, appropriate and responsive care from their main caregivers in the first years of life.
Bright Beginnings follows the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (2014) and members of staff are trained in ECERS (Early Child Development Rating Scales).
The Children’s Centre offers a number of 1001 Critical Day based interventions such as parental support both individual and in the form of groups and courses and informal family activities to encourage secure attachments for young children. There is a community cafe onsite offering a welcoming environment for families.
As we grow our timetable of events is expanding – for further information of the groups being offered please refer to our Facebook page – Bright Beginnings Children’s Centre.
Our Community Cafe is open to the general public from 10am till 4pm Monday to Friday. Whether you are a family wishing to use the cafe then stay and play in our playroom or you just want to get away from it all our aim is to provide a welcoming environment to all who visit the Children’s Centre.
We serve teas, coffees, freshly baked cakes fruit and ice cream. Take-away drinks are also available.
The Nursery facility will be available to children aged 0-2 and will take a maximum of 9 babies. The focus of the nursery is supporting babies development and in particular secure attachment with caregivers.
This service allows children to explore sharing with others, free play and promoting confidence building in preparation for preschool.

Parental involvement is very much encouraged and targeted support provided so that children may develop in all areas, providing them with a well rounded skill set in order to begin their formal education with the best possible start.
Each child attending Bright Beginnings will have a key worker who ensures we meet the needs of the individual child. The key worker will settle your child into Bright Beginnings helping your child to form a secure relationship with them.
Your child’s progress will be reported to you both verbally and in written form by the key worker ensuring we work together in partnership to support your child’s development and learning. We see this as a key part of our focus.
